3 Years
B.A. (Programme) – Bharati College, University of Delhi
The B.A. (Programme) is a 3-year undergraduate degree under the CBCS (Choice Based Credit System). It's different from an Honours course in that it allows you to study two subjects equally rather than specializing in one. It's designed for students who want a broader, interdisciplinary education.
Course Structure:
Discipline Courses (DC1 and DC2):
You choose two main subjects and study them throughout the course. These could be combinations like:
Political Science + History
Economics + Computer Applications
Hindi + Sanskrit
English + Sociology
Language Courses:
Includes one compulsory language (English, Hindi, or a Modern Indian Language)
AECC (Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses):
Courses like Environmental Science and English Communication that all students must take.
SEC (Skill Enhancement Courses):
Practical courses aimed at building job-ready skills. Examples might include creative writing, photography, theatre, data handling, etc.
Generic Electives (GE):
Elective subjects that can be chosen from any stream depending on availability.
Value-Added Courses (VAC):
These focus on soft skills, ethics, environmental responsibility, and citizenship.
Eligibility Criteria:
Must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board.
Admission is based on CUET (Common University Entrance Test) scores as per the latest University of Delhi guidelines.
